This means we have measured all of Glow Recipe’s emissions and are implementing reduction actions, a key milestone in our journey to net-zero!

HOW DID WE GET HERE & WHAT'S NEXT?

1. MEASURE

We partnered with a non-profit organization, Change Climate. Through their certification program, we measured our carbon footprint & put together a plan to offset and reduce our emissions now & in the future. 

2. COMPENSATE

We compensate our emissions by purchasing carbon credits and create a reduction action plan to reduce our emissions this year and every year after.

3. REDUCE

Each year, we put together plans to reduce our overall future emissions. Past initiatives include redesigning packaging to use less paper, reducing air freight, and increasing our use of PCR materials. And each year we challenge ourselves to continuous improvement!

We are constantly looking for ways to cut down on packaging and use more sustainable materials, including our ongoing efforts to expand our range of refillable products.

PACKAGING DESIGNED TO BE RECYCLED

In an effort to reduce waste, all of our packaging is designed to be recycled curbside or through our partnership with Pact Collective. In an effort to further reduce waste, our product packaging also utilizes post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic and glass where possible and we have eliminated all one time use items from packaging, such as spatulas.

BETTER (AND LESS) PAPER

We exclusively use FSC-certified paper, sourced responsibly to protect forests, and print with soy & vegetable ink. Additionally, we’ve optimized packaging weight and volume to eliminate unnecessary packaging.

REFILLABLE PACKAGING

We launched our first refillable product in 2021, the Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream and in 2024 we launched our Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Oil-Free Refillable Moisturizer. Each time you purchase a refill, you save about 66% of carbon emissions and about 85% of waste!* Looking ahead, we’re actively exploring opportunities to expand our refillable products.

Our formulations feature intentional ingredients and sustainable production methods, including traceable processes such as cold-pressing and biotechnology to protect biodiversity. We utilize all parts of fruits when possible to limit food waste and avoid environmental hazards in our ingredients ensuring all formulas are sustainability, responsibly, and ethically sourced.

OUR NO DEFORESTATION COMMITMENT

We pledge the elimination of resources that contribute to deforestation and focus on sustainably sourced materials that do not displace, destroy, or harm natural forests.
