In college, I started to research skincare so I could figure out what to put on my skin. Vitiligo can make your skin more sensitive to actives that aren’t well vetted and I also have psoriasis, so it’s like a double auto-immune whammy. I have super sensitive skin, so I don’t want to put something on my face that could potentially cause a reaction. I can’t use just anything because if something makes my skin react weirdly and gives me a rash that can be cut or picked, it could turn into a spot.
It’s 2020, so you know that in good skincare there will always be chemicals. It’s all about trusting who’s making the formulas, and I trust the Glow Recipe Team to make formulas that I’m comfortable with putting on my skin. It’s all about trusting the company and the chemists that are making the formula, and knowing that they’re transparent and want the best for you. Whenever I see that type of transparency to the public, that’s something I lean towards more.
LENA'S MUST HAVES
This is my favorite Glow Recipe product. It literally brought my skin back to life! I have to keep my skin moisturized and make sure it doesn’t dry out, and hyaluronic acid helps lock in hydration and assure my skin doesn’t get dry or flaky.
I love this mask because it’s so creamy and also has retinol, so I know it’s making me look younger and beautiful. It’s so nice to put on after you’ve applied all of your products to lock everything in, and when you wake up your skin just feels so soft to the touch.
Double cleansing is really new to me, and I didn’t realize it was helpful for sensitive skin. The Papaya Cleansing Balm takes off all the disgusting gunk on my face and also moisturizes my skin at the same time because it’s so creamy. Even after rinsing off the Blueberry Cleanser, my skin still feels so soft from the Papaya Cleansing Balm, and ready for me to use the rest of my products. I love watching @karolscorner remove their eye makeup with the Papaya Cleansing Balm, it’s so satisfying!
