STEP 1: DOUBLE CLEANSE
A.k.a. the foundation of a good-for-you skincare routine. Double cleansing ensures that the multiple layers of skin care, makeup, dirt, and oils are all thoroughly removed. Use an oil-based cleanser to remove stubborn oil-based products, makeup, and SPF. Use a SLS-free foaming cleanser to clean skin of dirt and debris.
Apply a cleansing balm to a dry face with clean, dry hands. Gently massage away makeup and SPF. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
Apply a water-based cleanser and gently massage to ensure that all residue is removed. Now you’re ready for the rest of your routine!
Use the K-beauty 1:1 Method (massage an oil-based cleanser for 1 full minute, then a foaming cleanser for 1 full minute) to achieve hydrated, bouncy, clean skin.
EXTRA TLC: WASH-OFF MASK
Apply a generous layer of our Watermelon or Avocado Retinol Masks to clean, dry skin and wash-off after 10 minutes for a flash facial 2-3 times a week.
STEP 2: TONE
Balance your skin's pH levels with your first leave-on treatment. We love multi-tasking toners that hydrate, balance, and treat over astringent ones (and we're sure your skin will, too!) to help prep skin for optimal absorption of products.
Press toner directly into skin to help with absorption
STEP 3: EYE CREAM
The skin around your eyes is incredibly delicate and prone to dehydration, which means this area requires special love and care through products that are specially formulated for your eyes. We recommend applying eye cream before your other actives and moisturizers (which may not be opthamologist tested).
Always use your ring finger to apply eye products — it’s the weakest and won’t pull or tug on the delicate eye area.
STEP 4: TREAT
The treatment step is where active ingredients shine. Here is where you’ll use your serums, essences, and ampoules to target specific skin care concerns like hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, redness, or dehydration. Pat in your treatments with the tips of your fingers to make sure they absorb completely before moving on to the next layer.
We love the K-Beauty double serum trend, which involves mixing and cocktailing serums to suit your individual skin care needs.
STEP 5: MOISTURIZE
Seal in all that skincare goodness with a hydrating and soothing moisturizer. Cream moisturizers are best suited for dry or dehydrated skin, while lightweight gel moisturizers work great for more oily or combination complexions.
Skip the primer and use a moisturizer with priming and smoothing properties to prep your skin for makeup.
STEP 7 (PM): MASK
Masks are great when you want a skincare boost or to treat yourself with some extra TLC. We love to incorporate a sleeping mask nightly as the last step of our skincare routine. They work overnight while you sleep, which is when your skin is in active repair mode to help you wake up with a glowing complexion.
Have combination skin? Try mixing and matching masks or to spot treat problem areas. We love to use a lightweight exfoliating mask on the T-zone, and nourishing masks on areas prone to dryness.
STEP 6 (AM): SPF
Whether you're a fan of chemical or physical sunscreens, SPF is your daytime non-negotiable. Not only do they help protect your skin from serious damage, but they also help prevent signs of premature aging. Make sure you reapply every two hours to keep your skin happy and healthy.
Pair your SPF with a powerful antioxidant like vitamin C—the two have a synergistic effect that can help your skin better protect itself.
Throughout the day, skin is losing hydration from environmental factors. Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist and Watermelon Glow Lip Pop are both an easy, effective way to help keep skin hydrated and bouncy, 24/7.
Skin is constantly losing hydration from environmental factors. Mists are an easy, fun way to help keep skin hydrated and bouncy, 24/7. You can also mist between each step of your skin-care routine for a "glass skin" look.
Mist before makeup to prep skin and after makeup to help set your look!
Don’t forget to take care of all parts of your skin! Lips are naturally much thinner than other parts of the body and don’t have oil glands, which is why lips get chapped! An effective, dual-purpose lip care step makes all the difference.
Use the Lip Pop as a primer for extra-drying lip stains and lipsticks!
